Kandy Stern is a native of Los Angeles where she began her art studies at the age of twelve. She relocated to New York and finished her studies in SUNY in Albany. Upon returning to Los Angeles she began a career in the Motion Picture industry working as a Set Designer, Art Director, Production Designer and Producer.

After retiring from the film industry Kandy moved to Denver, recently relocated to Oregon. She devotes her time to her art and nature. She and her dog, Penny, travel around the country in her RV.

She is best recognized for her contemporary, realistic, drawings and paintings of animals using charcoal and oils. The focus of her art is the emotion and sensitivity of animals. “Who they are, beings that share our planet, are often misunderstood and often under appreciated. Their existence is our great gift."
